Course Description:
This webinar on designing emergency workplace plans will teach you how to assess, plan, write, train employees and put into place effective emergency plans that will work in times of emergencies.
Since by its very definition an emergency is unexpected, an employer must have planned for the skilled intervention necessary in most emergencies to prevent the situation from worsening. What may have started as a small or simple emergency can almost guaranteed to be exacerbated by a lack of knowledge in how to intervene. Many emergencies can affect customers and other bystanders as well.
This webinar will help you develop or review your existing workplace emergency plan to cover a wide variety of applicable situations with its goal of making the workplace safe. You will learn how to design a plan for every workplace or site to minimize injury and loss of human life and company resources by identifying risks, identifying resources, training employees and assigning responsibilities.

Topic Back Ground:
A workplace emergency is an unexpected situation that poses an immediate risk to some aspect of the workplace and/or its people. Employees are often both the first affected and the first line of defense in an emergency. Employees can make all the difference in keeping an emergency contained as only an unexpected event, rather than as an unexpected event with serious even dire consequences. Yet employees can't respond if they don't know how.
As if often the case with emergencies, the emergency that happens is often the one least expected. Yet putting together a comprehensive emergency action plan that deals with all types of issues specific to a workplace should not be made difficult or complicated. Complicated plans by the nature of their difficulty in comprehension, while often impressive on paper are often ineffectual in the event of an actual emergency. Employees may have never finished (or even started) reading such a plan and/or could not comprehend or remember the plan after training.
